FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION
How far in advance should I book?
Some people book as far as several months in advance to make sure they get the photographer, studio and creative team they really want. Generally, my clients book with me 3-4 weeks prior. The further ahead you book the more likely I will be available to book with you on the date and the day of the week you want. But feel free to inquire about the date you want, and I will see if we can book it then.
Do you instruct for posing? “I’m kind of awkward/unphotogenic?”
Let’s be honest, most of us aren’t models, hence it’s no surprise that some of my clients had little or no experience being in front of camera. Meanwhile these are the same people you see on a lot of my photographs in my portfolio and instagram. And they are looking absolutely stunning and comfortable. That result is possible to achieve in mutual collaboration.
Yes, I absolutely do provide direction, but I try doing it in a gentle way so our experience of shooting together can become a doorway for you to gain that confidence in front of camera and open up being and projecting your best self.
One of the most important and underrated aspects of photography is choosing a photographer who you feel personally comfortable with; and hopefully someone who makes you laugh. This is why I try to meet in person or over the call with all my clients who inquire, to give them a chance to see if I am that person for them, and vice versa!
How long will it take to get my photos?
This depends on availability in my schedule and the scale of the project we are working on together, as some projects require more time. However, in most cases I will be sharing low resolution archive of images within 7-10 business days after the photoshoot. Retouched images are usually delivered within 3-4 weeks after you have selected files for editing and forwarded them to me.
What if I need to re-schedule?
Re-schedules less than 7 or more days prior to the day of the photoshoot are acceptable when reasonable, in other cases your 50% non-refundable deposit will expire.
How do you prefer to communicate?
I find email the most reliable way of keeping track of our conversation and planning. However if you need to reach out to me with an emergency or our communication requires back and forth messaging I am also available via text/whatsapp/instagram. If you wish to discuss details of our work on the phone, I suggest to book a call with me prior, to make sure I am fully focused on our conversation, otherwise you risk catching me on set or not catching me at allies it often happens that I can’t answer my phone when I work.
Are you going to post my photos on your website?
It is essential for me as a photographer to show my existing portfolio and update it with my newer work to attract new clients and illustrate what I can do. So you may expect to see some of the highlights from our shoot on my website and social media.
Can we do smaller shoot for less?
The packages and its’ prices are set. I have been working hard on building and estimating the packages to offer you with a deal that will allow us room to create and achieve results. Out of respect to all my valuable clients and collaborators, prices for my private photo/video services are fixed.
Do you deliver every image you shoot?
No. However, you will be receiving curated low resolution archive that will include best shots as well as happy accidents. You will receive high resolution retouched files as part of your package and will have opportunity to order extra photographs within 60 days from our shoot.
Do you provide videography services?
Yes, you can find some examples of my video work right here on my website or social media.
What happens if you get sick or injured and can’t photograph me?
I will provide you with an option to reschedule or refund.
Do I get Copyright to my photos?
By Canadian copyright law, I Natalya Tegza - creator/photographer, will remain the only copyright holder of the images. I do not watermark any of my images and you are free to use them for your personal use as you see fit. You may decide to post them on Instagram or print them at your lab of choice. What you can’t do is provide visuals created by me to any sort of commercial entity for commercial use, so if makeup artist, stylist, clothing brand or studio contacts you to use them to promote their business, please send them my way and I will be happy to work out usage agreement.
How many photos will I get?
Usually it comes to exactly what the description of the package says. However, there is possibility of that number to change, depending on the style and the scale of the project we are working on. If a number of deliverable images has to change, I will notify you in advance as we discuss idea and plan its’ realization.
Heads up: if we are creating high end beauty shoot, we are more likely to decrease the number of deliverables. the opposite is true about projects where we shoot more natural images with natural light.
Any general advice?
As I have been photographing for the most of my life, I shot hundreds of projects in various scenarios. When it comes to personal photography, or any type of photography that you come to get from me, my best and most cherished advice is: communication. Please communicate your ideas clearly and set the task as precise as you wish. I am always open to discuss ideas, generate new ones and develop them to bring them to life. I will need an introduction to what you want to create together as you first reach out to me with inquiry, but discussion of further details and research on my side will only happen after our shoot is fully booked.
